Using a rotary cutter or scissors to cut out circles is a trick — you know how hard it is to cut this basic shape accurately. The AccuQuilt GO! Circle die makes it a breeze. This die cuts three sizes of perfect circles lickety split. Great for popular yo-yo projects and raw edge bull’s-eye concentric circle quilt designs. Plus now polka dots, flower centers, large buttons, large eyes and apples and oranges are a snap.

How to Cut Circle Shapes

Cutting Mat Required: AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutting Mat 6×12 55112

Apply fusible web product to the wrong side of the fabric, following manufacturers instructions, before cutting for fusible appliqu.

  • 2″ Circle:Cut 2 1/2″ squares. Cut 16 circles across the width of fabric. One yard of 40″ wide fabric cuts 224 circles.
  • 3″ Circle:Cut 3 1/2″ squares. Cut 11 circles across the width of fabric. One yard of 40″ wide fabric cuts 110 circles.
  • 5″ Circle:Cut 5 1/2″ squares. Cut 7 circles across the width of fabric. One yard of 40″ wide fabric cuts 42 circles.

Die Tips

  • With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors.
  • Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle. Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board.
  • Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch.
  • It’s always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
