Roots and Shoots is woven using natural unbleached white yarns across the weft, combined with the most beautiful nature-inspired melange yarn of life-giving golden-green hues setting the warp. This naturally verdant melange-green is redolent of the cycle of nature, from the rich golden brown bulb of a daffodil and its pale white roots to the yellow-green new shoots that rapidly grow into glaucous green foliage and sunny yellow flowers with trumpets to herald the arrival of spring.

The combination of spring green hue on the face and predominantly natural white on the reverse produces a refreshing take on a denim style where the classic diagonals of the twill weave sit closely together throughout the fabric. Perfect for the cooler days of spring and cross-seasonal denim-style apparel. Team with classic wool tweeds in other natural green-gold hues for a semi-smart casual, town meets country style.

Properties:

These medium-weight, twill-woven fabrics have the look of classic denim(drill) but boast an array of the most beautiful nature-inspired melange yarns woven at their base and the superb qualities of hard-wearing cotton throughout the weft. Stable in width and length producing a pleasing hand that’s easy to work with. These fabrics will drape reassuringly, especially when used at length and are soft and malleable. The wool warp yarns produce a cosy feel that’s lightly brushed on the face. The cotton weft produces a clean cool cotton hand (predominant on the reverse) with just a touch of wool.
